Le Camp began as a small, family-run place — and that’s how we like to keep it.
Surrounded by trees and rolling green hills, it offers both space and privacy, with the calm and friendliness of a place that feels personal.
Le Camp sits in one of France’s most beautiful and untouched regions, with wide views over the Aveyron Valley. We’re about 90 minutes northeast of Toulouse, near the Gaillac wine region and the medieval villages of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, Cordes-sur-Ciel, and Najac.
The facilities at Le Camp
Le Camp offers a complete outdoor holiday experience with all the comfort you need.
Each of our seven canvas retreats is set in its own private space, inviting you to slow down and enjoy the quiet.
There’s also plenty to explore nearby — more than you could fit into one stay. If you’re looking for peace and time to unwind, you’ll find it here. If your children are looking for holiday friends, they’ll find them too. You can relax knowing they’re safe as they roam freely, play in nature, and meet our friendly animals and local wildlife.
Natural Swimming Pool
Our natural swimming pool was one of the first in France — and it remains one of the largest in Europe.
Filtered naturally through gravel and reeds, it offers a rare chance to swim in clear, living water — completely in harmony with nature. It’s the perfect place to slow down, watch butterflies drift by, or listen to the frogs and dragonflies that share this peaceful space.
Designed for everyone to enjoy, the pool stretches 20 metres long — ideal for a good swim — while the pebble beach and surrounding rocks invite younger children to explore safely. You can dive from the pontoon, nap under a tree, or simply enjoy the gentle sound of water.
And because our pool contains no chlorine, salt or chemicals, it’s good for you — and good for nature.
Our Canvas Hideaways
We’ve created a small number of spacious and comfortable canvas hideaways in our peaceful woodland.
Each tent rests on a raised wooden platform and blends gently into the surrounding landscape. Inside, you’ll find a handmade wooden king-size bed, comfortable deck furniture with soft cushions, and a shaded outdoor space for relaxing in nature.
Solar power provides gentle lighting, and some tents also include phone charging points — just enough comfort to keep life simple, and in balance with nature.
The Woodland
Shower House
Set among the oak trees, our showers offer a unique indoor-outdoor experience.
Light, open, and gently warmed by the sun, each shower room is spacious and comfortable. We provide soft white towels, and all grey water is recycled to nourish our garden and compost.
Hand-built in 2018, three of our canvas hideaways now feature en-suite, safari-style showers that blend naturally with the surrounding trees and plants — a refreshing way to wash off the day while enjoying views over the valley.
For Kids
There’s plenty to discover and enjoy at Le Camp.
Toys, books and games, table tennis, pétanque, a children’s play area and a small fitness space — everything you need for relaxed days together.
Children can hide in the woods, chase frogs, or look for glow worms after dark. Le Camp is a safe place for them to roam freely, make friends, and simply be themselves.
The Summer Kitchen
Make a cup of tea, light the fire, or cook something delicious — this is your own indoor-outdoor kitchen, fully equipped and ready to share.
Each family has its own cooking space and fridge, and you’ll find everything you need: dishwashers, an oven, microwave, sharp knives, pots and pans, bowls, plates, and glasses. We’ve also added the essentials — oil, vinegar, salt, herbs, and spices — so you can cook comfortably and feel at home.
The shaded pergola is perfect for eating together outdoors, or you can pack a picnic and head to the river. Cooking side by side with other guests often leads to shared recipes and new friendships over a glass of wine.
And of course, no stay would be complete without a barbecue — ours is a hand-built oil-drum braai, ideal for easy summer grilling. Each morning, we offer complimentary hot drinks, including fresh bean-to-cup coffee. Warm pastries and bread rolls are also available to purchase straight from the oven.
We invite everyone to recycle as much as possible, with separate bins for compost, glass, and mixed recycling — good for you, and good for nature.
Reception desk
Open every day from 8am to 9pm
At reception, you’ll find a small grocery corner with daily essentials, along with local guides, brochures, and maps to help you explore the area. We’re always happy to share ideas or make bookings for activities, restaurants, or visits — just ask, we’re here to help you plan your stay.
Need to scan or print a document? No problem — we can do that for you too. 🙂
We've returned to Le Camp every year for 8 years. We love it. With only 7 tents in the large wooded valley, there is space to unwind in peace and tranquility. Our (now) teenage boys roam around the valley, jump in and out of the magical natural pool, play games and make friends with other children on the site - exactly as they did when they were 5 and 7 and we first came. They still love it as much.
Meet the team
For seven years, Claire and Nigel brought Le Camp to life and welcomed guests with open arms. They’ve now moved on to new adventures, but a part of their spirit will always remain here.
We’re Anne and Philippe — the new owners of Le Camp since January 2024. Nature lovers at heart, we fell instantly in love with this peaceful eco-retreat in the South of France. Here, nature surrounds you so gracefully that you can’t help but slow down and feel at home.
Before coming to Le Camp, we managed a small family campsite in Ariège and worked as teachers — experiences that taught us the value of connection, care, and curiosity. We both love the outdoors, good food, reading by the fire, and practising Tao Yin, a gentle movement practice we hope to share with our guests.
What we love most about Le Camp is its spirit — a rare blend of comfort, simplicity, and respect for nature. Between a charming campsite and a guesthouse, it offers space to relax, reconnect, and share moments with others in the open-air kitchen or on the terrace.
We’re proud to continue Le Camp’s eco-friendly approach, especially through its beautiful natural swimming pool filtered by plants — a real little paradise.
Le Camp remains a small and welcoming place where every guest matters. We look forward to meeting you soon — and sharing this special corner of nature with you. 🌿
